Stephenville, Texas is a community of over 20,000 people in north central Texas, an hour's drive from Fort Worth. It is most known for its claim as the Cowboy Capital of the World, its prominent educational community, its dairy industry, live music, and football. This design honor's Stephenville's relationship with the Bosque River. Downtown Stephenville is situated just above the floodplain, the river flows through nearby Stephenville City Park, and the connecting Bosque River Trail provides residents access to nature, passive recreation, historic structures, community events, photo opportunities, and park-like spaces.
The design is centered around a blue backwards S, representing the backwards S form the Bosque River takes as it meanders through the community, as seen from map views. Coincidentally, the S also represents Stephenville itself. The design also reflects the local school district's colors of blue and gold.
